My Experience:  Summers are knocking at our doors and I am not looking forward to all the hot and sweaty days ahead, not to mention, the endless waxing sessions that are necessitated. Another thing I am not looking forward to are runny liners and mascara! So before each summer, I go on a hunt for the most budge-proof eyeliners. I have successfully found some really nice ones (and drugstore price too!) in the past like the Lakme Shine Line ( read here ). However, I was looking for something more this time and I think I have found it!
Smashbox Limitless Liquid liner comes packaged in a chic black cardboard box, much like the MAC ones. It carries all the necessary information about the product in clear white lettering. The actual product itself comes in a common pen style packaging, honestly, nothing special to say about the packaging. It is simple and effective, just the way it should be.
The most important aspect of any pen style liner is the nib/tip. This one has a sharp, conical, felt tip which feels spongy against the skin. It saturates quite well with the liner ink and does not leak. The tip is effective in creating thin yet precise lines. Thick lines can also be achieved by using the side of the tip or bending it ever so slightly.
This product is really goof-proof. It is super easy to handle and hold and hence, allows even the beginners to be able to draw lines as desired. The cap/lid of the pen clicks in place tightly, making it safe to travel with.
The pigmentation of this product is spot on! It is rich and saturated in one stroke and gives a velvety finish, which basically means that its not matte and its not overtly glossy. That is the exact kind of finish i was looking for.
What I love the most about this product and what separates it from all the other cheaper drugstore versions of pen-style liner is it’s staying power. This product just does not budge! It is waterproof, smudge-proof and sweat-proof. I have not tried it in a swimming pool but i am compelled to say that it would stay put even there. On my oily lids, it easily lasts for about 6-7 hours as is.
It removes completely only with an oil based makeup remover. Honestly, the only other pen style liner in this league would be KatVanD tattoo liner and the Stila one.
My biggest grudge against any pen style liner is that they dry up very soon. I have owned this one since last 3 months and it hasn’t showed signs of drying up as of now.
Over all, if you have been wanting to try out a pen style liner of really good quality then do try this one. I like its pigmentation and above all, its longevity. Plus, it has been on a discounted price on Sephora for a while now! Click on the link above to shop it online.
I would rate it 5/5.
