Hi my dear friends! Today’s write up is about one of my favorite makeup products, M.A.C. Lipstick in Film Noir. Price : Rs 1450 for 3 gm / US$ 17 Product Description : intense brown in satin finish My Experience : Okay, so first of all, sorry for being MIA for sometime. I haven’t posted anything for a week, which is like a month in blogging world! I have been busy with family gatherings and weddings etc which can be quite exhausting you know, esp the Indian weddings! Coming back to the star of the story, you all know that MAC lipsticks are some of my favorite things in the makeup world. MAC offers over 190 shades in different finishes and that is more than any other brand I know off. Not to mention, their amazing Viva Glam AIDS charity series. This particular lipstick has been handed down to me by my mum, I have to admit it wasn’t my own purchase. It came in the classic black cardboard packaging by MAC with necessary details mentioned. The lipstick itself it cased in a oh-soiconic frosted black bullet shaped plastic casing. It has a sticker at its bottom mentioning some details about the product. The lipstick has a faint vanilla scent to it which is very signature of all MAC lipsticks. It’s quite mild and disappears soon after application. This particular lipstick has a SATIN finish. These are my second favorite from MAC after their Matte finishes. They go on very creamy and glossy at the start but eventually settle to a semi matte finish. I love this finish even more in winters because my poor dry lips can barely withstand the matte formula during these cold months. So this finish gives me the necessary hydration along with a velvet finish! It’s a win win! The consistency of this lipstick is very smooth and there is no tug or pull whatsoever during application. It glides on like butter and does not cling to or enhance the dry/ flaky bits on my lips! Pigmentation is superb, though not as mind blowing as a matte finish lipstick. A single swipe gives enough color payoff, but I put on a second layer to bring out that gorgeous color on my pigmented lips. Now coming to the best part, look at this gorgeous shade!! Film Noir is a classic deep brown, without any red undertones. It’s definitely not for the faint hearted ! Its almost black in the bullet but on lips it’s a rich and luxurious espresso brown shade. You know how the mocha brown 90s lip is so trendy right now?! Well, if you want that toffee shade and make it more fall/winter appropriate, then this is it! This shade is about a 90% match with the new MAC Matte lipstick Antique Velvet. If you don’t like the dry feeling of the mattes, or haven’t been able to get hold of the new shade, this is the perfect option for you! The longevity of this shade was 4 to 5 hours on me, which is less than what the matte lipsticks last for. It can survive light snacking but may fade off from the middle of the lips. Over all, I rarely have anything bad to say about MAC lipsticks ever and this is no exception. It’s perfect for the 90s lip trend and very winter appropriate. Loving it! I would rate it a 5/5 Hope you all enjoyed reading this post! Enjoy the festivities all around and have a good time during the holidays! … More MAC Satin Lipstick in Film Noir : Review,Swatch & FOTD
